Loring CloudCEO/Owner, Clinical Brand Strategist

In the healthcare advertising world, Loring applies a valuable perspective to his clients’ toughest marketing challenges, one that is unmatched because of his broad breadth of experience first as a practitioner and then in both sales and marketing. Having started his work career as a pharmacist, working in both the retail and hospital settings, Loring joined The Upjohn Company. During his almost 12 years there, he served in nine different roles. These included Sales (general and hospital), District Sales Manager (general and hospital), Sales Training, Marketing (Product Manager and Strategy role), Trade Relations, and Director of the MSL Neurosciences group. During his years on the agency side, he worked for three large agency networks as well as an independent. Interspersed in his agency experience, Loring headed the Marketing department for the CRO services at Quintiles (now IQVIA) and served as a consultant to pharmaceutical companies for a couple of years. Seeing challenges and opportunities from all sides, Loring’s unique experience sets him apart in the world of advertising. Loring received his B.S. in pharmacy from The University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) College of Pharmacy. Loring’s unique experience has proven invaluable in new drug and medical device marketing successes across a wide spectrum of disease and therapeutic categories.

Kevin HarringtonChief Creative Officer

Kevin has more than 25 years of experience as a Creative Director working both in the consumer and healthcare fields. Earning his BFA from the Tyler School of Temple University, he went on to further study enhanced creative solutions under Milton Glaser at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. Gaining significant business acumen in his role as Creative Services Manager within the marketing department at Dow Jones, Kevin launched his own agency in northern New Jersey, attracting such clients as HBO, Sony, Panasonic, and Turner Broadcasting while winning multiple awards for creative excellence. As a self-professed left-brain/right brain practitioner who merges an artistic nature with scientific curiosity, he launched a division of his agency that targeted the vast healthcare market within the NY Metro area. For more than 12 years, Kevin was responsible for developing strategies and executing campaigns for such well-regarded companies as Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, Sanofi-Aventis, and Pfizer.

Angie BrandtAccount Director

Angie is an accomplished advertising and marketing professional with more than 15 years experience in strategic and tactical advertising campaign management for a variety of industries, including consumer products, pharmaceuticals, and legal services. 

 Her mantra centers around planning and refining procedures. Her promise to all of our clients is on-time delivery with a high regard to budget and adherence to the creative brief. She manages communication between cross-functional teams – both internal and external. At Epic her number one priority is to manage client relationships and ensure that our clients are delighted about the stories we craft for their brands.

Kristen Phiel, MSMedical Writer/Scientific Strategist

Kristen is an accomplished medical writer with therapeutic experience spanning across numerous disease categories, including cardiovascular, oncology, diabetes, mental health, respiratory, immune/infectious diseases, and women’s health. She has authored journal articles and published numerous abstracts in medical and scientific publications, and is a frequent speaker for the American Medical Writers Association. With more than 10 years of communication experience, Kristen has successfully turned her passion for science and research toward medical and healthcare communications. She combines her writing talents with deep scientific understanding to produce creative, concise, accurate, and effective healthcare communications.

Martin Guppy, BSc MSc PhD EU/Global Medical Communications

Martin has spent the past 15 years working in healthcare communications, following the completion of a BSc [pharmacology and psychology], MSc [toxicology], PhD and post-doc research [molecular oncology and cancer genetics]. During this time he has developed and demonstrated considerable expertise in technical and creative writing and editing across multiple areas of medical education and pharmaceutical marketing. His specialty is in technical/complex brands, interactive/digital/e-learning materials, medical publications and congress reports, with experience in almost all therapeutic areas. His broad experience of science and medicine informs his ability and vision to bring medicine to life. Martin has written articles in several journals on topics including HIV, immunology/infectious disease, IBS, major depressive disorder, schizophrenia and vertigo.

Jeff StaufferDigital Strategy and Information Design

Jeff is technology and product-minded with over 20 years of experience in working with Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits and startups. His experience brings a unique, well-rounded perspective as he has held roles ranging across the following disciplines: product design and management, digital strategy, business process re-engineering, business analysis, information architecture, user experience design, eLearning, building online communities, and content management. Jeff has worked across multiple industries with a majority in the health, pharmaceutical, financial services and non-profit industries serving clients such as Abbott, Bayer, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Eli Lilly, Emergency Networking, Genentech, J&J, L’Oreal, Merck, Medtronic, Nalgene, Nationwide, Northrup Grumman, OCLC, Roche, Safelite, Stryker, Teva, The Ohio State University, and Vesco Medical.
